Steps to Become a Member
Follow the steps below to become a member of the creator's community.
Go to the creator's Buy Me a Coffee page. If you don't have their page URL, you can look them up at Explore Creators.
While you are on their page, click on the membership widget. You are offered a list of multiple membership levels to choose from. The levels are unique. They will have different names, prices, and rewards.
Select the one that works best for you, select between yearly and monthly membership subscriptions, type in your email address and name, and finally, hit that Join button!
Don't forget to leave a nice message if you'd like to. You can keep it private to the creator by checking the box below.
Next, you can enter your card details to complete the payment for your membership. If you're particularly impressed by the creator and want to contribute more, you can subscribe at a higher price.
Note: Make sure to enter your email address correctly, as it will be linked to your membership subscription.
Congratulations! 🎉 You are now a member and have successfully subscribed to the creator. Check your email for a welcome message from the creator, which will include details about your subscription.
How do you access your membership content?
Many creators share exclusive posts via their membership levels. If your creator has listed access to members-only posts as a membership reward, you will have easy access to them. Here is what you should do.
Log in to your member account using the email address associated with your subscription. You will get an OTP to continue.
Once logged in, you will find the latest posts from the creator listed on your home page. Simply click on a post to open and view its content.
If you want to see all the posts by the creator, you can click on their profile icon located at the top of your home page. However, remember that posts not specifically designated for your membership level will be inaccessible to you.
If you are searching for a particular post, you can utilize the search posts option to quickly find and access it.
Managing your membership payments
To view your membership payment details, follow these steps:
Click on your profile icon located in the top right corner of the page.
Select "My Account" from the menu options.
Navigate to the "Payments" tab. Here, you can view and update the card details associated with your membership.
Your membership payments will be charged either every 30 days or every 365 days, depending on your chosen plan (monthly or yearly), starting from the date of your initial payment.
In case your membership payment fails, here's what you can do:
It's important to maintain an adequate balance so ensure that you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the payment.
If your current card has expired, you can easily add a new card by selecting the "Add a new card" option on the payments page. Your new card will be automatically set as your active card.
If the card linked to your membership subscription is no longer in use, you can cancel your subscription and then resubscribe using your new card details.
Please note that Buy Me a Coffee provides a grace period of ten days for payment failures. During this time, you will still have access to the membership content, allowing you enough time to update your payment details.
Unsubscribing from a membership level
If you wish to unsubscribe from a membership level, it's important to do so before your next billing cycle to avoid being charged for the upcoming cycle. If you unsubscribe after the billing cycle has already generated a bill, you will still be responsible for paying that bill. Here are the steps to follow to unsubscribe from a membership level:
Log in to your account and click on the hamburger menu.
Select "My Account" from the list and navigate to the "Payments" tab within your account settings.
In the "Payments" tab, you will find a list of the memberships you are currently subscribed to. Locate the membership level you want to unsubscribe from and click on the "edit" button next to it.
A modal will open, where you click on the "cancel membership" link.
You will be prompted to choose a reason for cancelling from a provided list. Select the appropriate reason or enter a different reason if necessary.
Finally, click on the "cancel my membership" button to complete the unsubscribe process.
Please note that by unsubscribing from a membership level, you will no longer provide support to the creator, and you will lose access to all existing and future membership rewards associated with that level. If you ever wish to resubscribe to the cancelled membership level, you can simply click on the "resubscribe" button next to that specific membership level and follow the steps outlined in the "Steps to Become a Member" section.
