Pausing a membership level allows creators to take a break from posting content or providing rewards to their members. During this time, billing cycles for existing members will be temporarily stopped, and new members will not be able to sign up or pay for the membership level.
Steps to pause a membership level
Go to the dashboard, hit the Membership tab, and then click Settings.
Scroll down to the section Pause Membership and click on the Manage Billing Button.
Now, from the dropdown, select the membership level that you would like to pause, and then on the next screen, choose the duration for the pause(1 month, 3 months, or 6 months).
Billing will automatically resume once the pause period ends. However, you can unpause it at any time earlier if you wish to.
How is pausing a membership level different from unpublishing it?
Unpublishing a membership level
When a membership level is unpublished, no new members can join the membership level. But the existing members continue to make their recurring monthly/yearly payments.
Unpublishing a membership level is recommended when the creator no longer needs new members to this membership level due to reasons like reaching the number of members limit, the creator wanting to make some changes to the membership level, etc.
Pausing a membership level
When a membership level is paused, new members cannot join the level, and existing members’ billing is temporarily stopped.
Pausing a membership level is advised when the creator wants to take a break from providing content to the members.
