Buy Me a Coffee now uses Stripe Standard Connect to handle all creator payouts. This change gives you more control, faster access to your funds, and a secure, reliable way to get paid.
Setting up payouts is quick - and you only need to do it once. Please note that yoir page won't be live until you connect it to a payout method.
Step-by-step: connect your Stripe account
Go to your Payouts tab
Log in to your Buy Me a Coffee dashboard and click on the Payouts section from the sidebar.Click “Set up payouts”
You’ll be redirected to Stripe to begin onboarding. This is a secure process handled entirely by Stripe.Complete Stripe’s onboarding form
Stripe will ask for basic info like:Your name and contact information
Your bank account or card details for payouts
A few details for tax purposes, depending on your location
You're done!
Once complete, your Stripe account will be connected and ready to receive payouts. You’ll be able to view and manage all your payout settings directly from the Stripe dashboard.
What if I already had a Stripe Express account?
We’ve moved all creators to Stripe Standard Connect to give you more control and visibility over your payouts.
You’ll need to complete this setup, even if you previously used Stripe Express. This is a one-time step and will take only a couple of minutes.
With Stripe Standard, you get a full Stripe dashboard where you can manage your payouts, view detailed reports, and update your account settings directly.
Can I update my payout details later?
Yes, at any time.
All updates are handled through Stripe. Just log into your Stripe dashboard to:
Change your payout schedule
Update your bank account or payment method
Edit your tax information
View past payouts and download financial reports
