How do you create a discount code?

  1. Log in to your Buy Me a Coffee account, navigate to the Shop page, and click the 'Discounts' tab.

  2. Click the 'New Discount' to create one.

  3. Enter a clear and descriptive name for your discount.

    Pro Tip: Give your discount a name that reflects its purpose. For example, if it’s a holiday promotion, name it “Holiday Sale”. This name will help you keep track of multiple discounts if you create several in the future.

  4. Generate a discount code for customers to use at checkout.

  5. Choose whether the discount applies to the entire shop or specific items. If you're promoting certain products, you can apply the discount only to those specific items to drive sales.

  6. Select whether you want the discount to be a percentage off the original price (like 10% off) or a fixed amount (like $5 off).

  7. Configure any additional settings, such as limit quantity or validity period.

  8. After finalizing, click the 'Add Discount' button to save your discount.

Limit quantity

You can use this to specify how many times a discount can be used. For example, if you set a limit of 50 uses, only the first 50 customers can use this discount.

Limit validity period

You can use this to set an expiry date for your discount, which is ideal for flash sales or holiday promotions. Once the set date is reached, the discount will no longer be available.
