Buy Me a Coffee supports cryptocurrency as a payment option, giving your supporters a flexible way to send one-time support or make shop purchases using crypto.
Who can use this feature?
Cryptocurrency payments are available only for creator accounts with USD as the payment currency. If your account currency is not USD, cryptocurrency will not appear as a payment option for your supporters.
For creators using Stripe Express accounts, cryptocurrency payments are enabled by default and will appear as a payment option during checkout for eligible transactions. Note: This option cannot be disabled from the Buy Me a Coffee account.
For creators using Stripe Standard accounts, cryptocurrency payments are not enabled by default. To use crypto payments, creators must enable cryptocurrency as a payment method from their Stripe Dashboard. Once enabled in Stripe, the crypto payment option will automatically appear on their Buy Me a Coffee creator page for eligible transactions. What can supporters pay for using crypto?
Supporters can use cryptocurrency for one-time support payments and shop purchases. Crypto is not available for memberships or monthly support.
When a creator's account is eligible, you will see Crypto as a payment option alongside Card and Bank during checkout. Simply select it and click Pay to proceed.
After selecting Crypto and clicking Pay, you will be redirected to a Stripe hosted page to complete the payment. From there, you can connect your preferred crypto wallet and authorise the transaction.
Note : All cryptocurrency payments are automatically converted and settled in USD, and creators will receive their earnings in USD just like any other payment.
