Buy Me a Coffee is the perfect platform for creators to connect with supporters and start earning. Setting up your account is the first step here, and it's quick and easy. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to set up your page, customize it, and get set to receive support.
Create your account
Start by choosing a username. This will be part of your page URL, so pick something short and memorable that reflects your brand. You can also change it anytime later from settings.
Next, sign up using your email or a social login (Google, X, or Apple). If you choose email, you’ll receive a confirmation code—just enter it to verify your account and click "Sign Up."
Set up your page basics
This is where your page starts to take shape:
Use a clean and professional image as your profile picture. A photo of yourself works great for personal pages, while a logo is ideal for businesses.
Enter your name or brand name to make your page recognizable.
Describe what you do and why you created this page in the bio. Keep it concise and clear for your supporters.
Add your website or social media link where you’re most active.
Tip: Make sure your bio and profile picture leave a great first impression because they are the first things visitors see.
Set up your payout
Setting up your payout is essential because your page won’t be visible until this step is completed.
First, confirm if your country is listed. If it’s not, don’t worry—we’re working on adding more countries and will update our social media when new ones are available.
If it’s listed, link your existing Stripe Express account or set up a new one to start receiving your earnings.
You can go ahead and skip this step while setting up the page and add the payout anytime later, but remember, your page will remain hidden until the payout setup is complete.
Personalize your page
Once all the basic setup is complete, we can focus on making the page more like you and your creative work.
Add a One-Liner: Write a quick, catchy line about your creative work. This appears prominently on your page and gives visitors a snapshot of who you are.
Customize the Sidebar: Decide what’s most important—Support, Memberships, or Shop—and organize your sidebar accordingly. Highlight the feature that best represents your work.
Add social links
Link all your social accounts—Instagram, Twitch, YouTube, X, GitHub, Medium, and more—so your visitors can learn more about you and stay connected. Also, add your top YouTube video as the featured video to your page if you have one.
Tip: Share your Buy Me a Coffee link in your social media bios and tell people where to support you.
Brand your page
Here is more to customize and make your page reflect your brand.
Replace the coffee(text and the emoji) with something that fits your brand—like a film reel, paintbrush, book, or camera.
You can match your page’s color scheme with your logo or profile picture to keep everything cohesive.
Display Options and Social Sharing
You can choose whether to show your supporter count—it’s a great feature if you have a large number, but you can keep it hidden if you’re just starting out. Also, don’t forget to add your X (formerly Twitter) handle to include it in share buttons and messages.
Add the cover image
The final touch is adding a cover image. You can upload your own (1600px wide by 400px tall) or select one from Unsplash directly on the platform. With this, your page is all set to share and start receiving support.
